LED Options: What is an LED Indicator?
An LED indicator is an electronic component that is primarily used to indicate whether a machine or system is working, or as a warning signal. These indicators can help the user to identify any fault in the circuit or safety issues in the equipment, as they can be wired to only light up when there is a problem, or to emit a different colour, e.g. green when working and red when there is a fault.
Pilot lights, also known as power light indicators, are more specifically used to indicate the start or stop of a process, usually through a dual-colour functionality, or by momentarily flashing/blinking.
RJS Electronics offers a wide range of both plastic and metal LED indicators and pilot lights, in various shapes and sizes from 6mm to 30mm. Additionally, we provide a wide selection of LED illumination options to perfectly suit your design requirements.
We have IP rated options to suit more hard wearing applications, and ultrabright indicators for high visibility even in sunlight.
What are the benefits of LED indicators?
LED indicators are now the most commonly used type of indicator, as they offer lower power consumption than other types of indicator, and are much longer lasting. In some applications, you could mount an LED indicator and not have to touch or replace it for years. LEDs also allow for many more colour options than neon or other illumination types.
Our high quality, robust and energy-efficient indicators are ideal for a broad extent of applications.
Below are just some examples of possible applications:
