Key lock Switches

Keylock switches are a switch with a locking mechanism, often with a type of key. Keylock switches can be metal or plastic and round, rectangular or square shaped in order to fit the application. Keylock switches are designed to add security, privacy and some cases protect others. Along with a locking mechanism, they also have a rotary feature which allows the locking mechanism to take place.

When selecting a Keylock switch, here are some of the key features to think about:

  • Shape: Round, Square or Rectangular.
  • Size: The panel cut out. Check the attributes of the Keylock switches as it will explain the panel cut out and other dimensions needed.
  • Configuration: SPDT/DPDT (On-Off / On-On)
  • Function: Momentary or Latching
  • LED illumination: Ring LED illumination in single colours of Red, Green, Yellow, White and Blue.

A Keylock switch is commonly found used for Lockers and Cabinets, used within Industrial manufacturing environments or commercial environments used for a range of equipment. Additionally, they can be spotted in any public or private communal spaces where they may need to lock away items or in cars especially glovebox compartments or small safety deposits and even toys.   Keylock switches are usually on the front or top of the device making it easy to access.

RJS can offer a range of PCB and Panel mount electromechanical components such as Illuminated and Non-Illuminated Tact switches, Pots & Encoders, Relays, Toggles and DIP switches, metal Push Button switches, metal and plastic Indicators, Emergency Switches, Keylock and Selector Switches, Proximity and Limit Switches.
