Selector switches are often plastic push button switches operated through the rotation. Selector switches are a switch with rotary mechanism. Selector switches are mostly plastic panel mount switches available as round, rectangular or square shaped in order to fit the application. Selector switches can be used a multitude of functions, such as turning a device ‘On and Off’ or selecting a pre-set function such as levels of time, temperature, speed or other functions. When the pre-set function is selected, it continues with the function until changed or stopped.
When selecting a Selector switch, here are some of the key features to think about:
- Shape: Round, Square or Rectangular.
- Size: The panel cut out. Check the attributes of the Selector switches as it will explain the panel cut out and other dimensions needed.
- Configuration: SPDT/DPDT (On-Off / On-On)
- Function: Momentary or Latching
- LED illumination: Ring LED illumination in single colours of Red, Green, Yellow, White and Blue.
A Selector switch is used for a wide range of application that may need to control a function such as time, temperature, speed and have different levels of intensity. Selector switches can be a fun alternative to Push Button metal switches or No Touch switches and can control multiple functions rather than just the ‘On and Off’ function. Selector switches can be spotted in a wide range of domestic and commercial applications used for in cooking appliances, home automation devices, control panels within vehicles, medical equipment. Children’s toys and beauty and cosmetic devices.
