Who are WolfElec?
WolfElec is a British family company that is a ‘leading innovator in the world of hard-wired communication systems and special vehicle products’, with people and safety at the heart of their business. They have over 40 years of experience in innovating and creating intercoms and monitoring systems for emergency, public transport and military transportation, as well as private-use vehicles.
What They Do
Intercoms
WolfElec manufactures world-renowned, highly adaptable intercom systems for a wide range of vehicles, including emergency response vehicles, buses & public transport, mobility vehicles and other special vehicles.
Security
Alongside intercoms, they also manufacture a range of reliable vehicle security systems, including deadbolts, slamlocks and automatic motion locking devices. These devices are designed to keep the driver and any important equipment inside the vehicle safe.
Voice Alert
This vehicle information system with fire suppression integration was originally designed to be used on London buses, and is now also available for ambulances, police, fire, military, agricultural and commercial vehicles. Each fully-programmed module features bespoke messages and sounds (up to 100 messages in any language) that issue verbal advice and warnings to a driver to warn about a potentially hazardous situation. They contain a dedicated circuit that can monitor up to two smoke detectors, and another 9 circuits to monitor other sensors and switches in the vehicle. Some common alerts include; smoke and heat detectors, ‘battery power low’, ‘handbrake on/off’ and ‘tyre pressure low’.
Made in Britain
WolfElec are a fellow UK-based company who sell internationally and proudly display that their products are Made in Britain. We asked Director Jake Adams why this is important to WolfElec:
“I like to back our local UK businesses. We try and source as much as we can from UK manufacturers. Our main products are manufactured in the UK.”
WolfElec and RJS Electronics
We have been working with WolfElec to supply anti-vandal push buttons that are used across a variety of their products, as on/off switches, test buttons and ‘push to talk’ buttons. Jake also worked with our Sales Engineer Dylan to design custom ‘fire test’ and ‘smoke test’ buttons for their products, in line with their end customer’s specifications.
To meet their customer’s requirements, RJS helped WolfElec to customise our RJS1N1LP-12M-F~65A metal push buttons. They opted for a black anodised aluminium material finish, with blue LED illumination and custom ‘FIRE TEST’ and ‘SMOKE TEST’ laser engraved text on the actuators.
RJS1N1LP is our series of ultra low profile anti-vandals, with micro-travel, an SPST momentary function and IP65/IP67 ratings. These switches are available with a 12mm, 16mm, 19mm, 22mm, 25mm, or 30mm panel cut out and various LED illuminated options including RGB illumination.
In addition to the custom 12mm push buttons, WolfElec uses two of our other anti-vandal push buttons in their products (as pictured in the product photo above).
The RJSX02 series are SPDT or DPDT changeover switches with a common pin between the NO and NC circuit. They are equipped with an IP67 rating and available with an array of LED options and 16mm, 19mm or 22mm panel cut-outs.
The RJS202 switches that WolfElec selected feature:
- Blue ring LED illumination
- 19mm panel cut-out
- Flat head
- Brushed steel finish
- DPDT configuration
- IP67 rating
The RJS102P series switches are very similar to the standard RJSX02 series, but with an SPST configuration, a 16mm or 19mm panel cut-out size, and a switch harness.
The RJS102P switches that WolfElec selected are:
- Non-illuminated
- 16mm panel cut-out
- Flat head
- Brushed steel finish
- IP67 rated
