The company also imports and exports various products, including food & drink, health & beauty and cosmetic products.
Shaun Gooden is the man behind the company, and operates SG Imports & Exports as a self-proclaimed ‘one man band’.

About Shaun Gooden
Alongside SG Imports & Exports, Shaun manufactures his own music equipment under the brand Link Audio Systems, for international distribution in the music and entertainment industry.
Link Audio Systems was started by Shaun’s father in the 1980s and Shaun has been helping out with the business since he was 12 years old. The audio systems quickly became very popular and sought after, but unfortunately the business came to halt when Shaun’s father passed away in 2005. Then, after 9 years of constant phone calls from people asking where they could purchase the equipment, Shaun decided to start the business up again in 2014.
Thanks to his 13 years of experience of working in the Supply Chain for an Aerospace company, he was able to source suppliers and couriers and get the business up and running again quickly.
He found great success with this until 2020, when the pandemic hit. This was when Shaun decided to set up SG Imports and Exports LTD.

'Made in the UK, Sold to the World'
All of Shaun’s products are made and sourced in the UK. This ensures that everything being exported by SG Imports & Exports is of the highest quality; something that Shaun is extremely proud of.
He noted that this has been more of a challenge since Brexit has come into effect, as processes and procedures have become more difficult. Fortunately though, the services that SG Imports & Exports provides in logistics, port clearances and commercial invoicing, etc. kept the processes simple. Many UK manufacturers look to Shaun for help to get their products abroad.
Link Audio Systems
One key product produced by Link Audio Systems is their Sound Effect Generators. These are used in both live settings and recording studios to enhance music by providing background effects. LAS products can be seen at clubs, carnivals, street parties and dub/roots reggae festivals.

The Link Audio Systems Sound Effect Generators have been used in many award-winning sound systems at festivals and events around the world. At Notting Hill Carnival this year they won Best Sound in Carnival 2023, and their equipment was used in 10 of the top sound systems at the festival:

So, where does RJS come in?
Shaun uses various colours of our RJSPS12A round LED buttons in the Link S.E.G 3. system. These compact 12mm plastic buttons are perfect for use in the audio industry, as the colourful LED illumination allows the user to quickly see if the button is on, even in dark environments.
Shaun first contacted us back in 2016, looking for assistance to find the perfect switches to update his legacy product.
He was worried that we wouldn’t be able to help him, as the Link S.E.G 3. was an old design, but our Sales Engineer Rob visited Shaun and they came up with a plan together. They tested various buttons, and Rob left Shaun with some sample switches to play around with.
Fast forward seven years, and Shaun had finally managed to source the other PCB components for the system, so he called us back up and we were able to get everything in place for him expeditiously. We also provided Shaun with technical drawings of the RJSPS12A switches, which helped him to wire the switches into the PCBs himself.

We asked Shaun how he found it working with RJS Electronics. This is his experience in his own words:
“I have found working with RJS a GREAT Pleasure. There are many reasons for this, firstly, due to me being a small business with a vision, it is VERY hard to find big companies like RJS providing help like they have to companies like me. Most companies will turn you away because you are not placing 6 figure orders.
The patience and support RJS have provided, words can not express my appreciation for. They have literally helped me breathe life into a name (Link Audio Systems) which, one day will become as big as when my Father was alive.
Secondly, Rob listened to what I was trying to do and saw the vision through with me. I approached companies before and never had any responses so the fact RJS kept the door open is HUGE in my eyes. Something I will never forget.
Thirdly, we were able to come to a supply agreement with the switches and have something in place for when I start placing larger orders. The orders are starting to creep up slowly and new projects are on the way which RJS have advised they will support me with.
The RJS team have lifted a MASSIVE weight off my shoulders, so many times I told myself it’s never going to work and to give up but they kept me going so I just want to say a massive thank you.”
